This exhibition is held to commemorate the master artist’s 80th birthday — a remarkable milestone in both life and art.
Ho Peng @ 80 is a heartfelt celebration of Ng Ho Peng’s quiet yet powerful artistic journey — one that began with youthful friendship, paused for decades of devoted service in journalism and education, and reignited with passionate clarity in the later chapters of his life.
His artworks radiate warmth, memory, and emotional depth. From idyllic villages and quiet canals to vibrant street scenes across the globe, his brush preserves not only what he has seen, but what he has felt — a deep reverence for life’s fleeting beauty. Whether painted on canvas or across the walls of his own home, these works reflect an artist who paints not merely to document, but to remember, to cherish, and to share.
At 80, Ho Peng reminds us that creativity knows no age. Like Grandma Moses, the American folk artist who inspired him, he proves that it is never too late to bloom. His art speaks of places, people, and feelings — but above all, it speaks of a life well-lived, with gentleness, resilience, and grace.
Curating this exhibition is both a tribute and a privilege — to honor not only the artist, but the enduring spirit behind each stroke and scene.
